SEO Rankings, Keywords, Backlinks & Competitors
Four pages in the Search & GEO area cover how you rank today, which keywords to go after next, who links to you, and what your competitors are doing.
Search Performance
Search & GEO → Rankings → Search Performance (/seo/rankings) combines Google Search Console analytics, search insights, and a keyword ranking table.
- The Keyword Rankings table lists keyword, current position, change, clicks, impressions, the ranking URL, and when the position was last checked.
- Positions come from ScaleBlogger's tracked rankings. Top Search Console queries are merged in for keywords that are not tracked yet, so the table still fills up before rank tracking has history.
- Change compares the two most recent checks for a keyword: a positive number means the page moved up. It stays blank until there are two data points.
- The table shows the 50 best positions, sorted by position, and highlights anything in the top 10.
If it is empty, connect Google Search Console from the website's SEO settings.
Keyword Research
Search & GEO → Keywords → Keyword Research (/seo/keywords) shows the research produced by your latest strategy run for the selected website.
- Opportunities — keyword, search volume, difficulty, intent, and estimated CPC where available. Difficulty scores map to bands: under 34 is low, 34–66 is medium, 67 and above is high.
- People also ask — related questions you can turn into a brief in one click.
- Related searches — adjacent queries worth covering.
Filter by text, search intent (informational, commercial, transactional, navigational), or difficulty band. Save shortlists a keyword for the current session and Add to brief or Add to strategy takes you to Content Studio Strategy to plan the article. If the page is empty, run a strategy for the website to generate research.
Backlinks
Search & GEO → Backlinks (/seo/backlinks) tracks inbound links across five tabs.
| Tab | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Monitored Links | Every known link with source, target, anchor text, type, status, first seen, and last checked. Counters show total, live, dofollow, and removed links. |
| Gap Analysis | Domains that link to your competitors but not to you. |
| Growth | Snapshots of how your link profile changes over time. |
| Page Audit | Which articles already earn links, which need outreach, and which have broken inbound links. |
| Competitors | Competitor backlink snapshots and recent changes. |
Filter monitored links by status (live, removed, nofollowed, changed) and by link type (dofollow, nofollow, UGC, sponsored).
Links are collected two ways, and ScaleBlogger tags each one with the discovery source it came from. Automated backlink scans run weekly (and on demand) against the managed SEO data service and store their results with the backlink_scan source, while links won by your outreach campaigns keep their own campaign source. Because the sources are separate, a scan never overwrites the attribution of a link your outreach actually earned.
Competitive Analysis
Search & GEO → Competitors (/seo/competitors) needs the Competitor Analysis feature, available on Pro and above. Press Run competitor research to discover competitors and refresh their data; results stream in as they are processed.
Summary cards show competitors tracked, tracked keywords, indexed pages, and posts this week. Four tabs go deeper:
- Overview — the competitive set (each marked Auto when discovered by ScaleBlogger or Manual when you added it), share of voice across tracked ranking keywords, and top competitor keywords.
- Content — indexed competitor pages and the content gaps they reveal.
- Activity — publishing cadence and trending topics.
- Rankings — total keywords, average position, top-10 count, last check, and the SERP position table.
