Outreach Prospector & ICP Objectives

Define an Ideal Customer Profile per objective, discover matching companies from target domains and search results, and turn them into outreach accounts and contacts.

Outreach Prospector & ICP Objectives

The Prospector (Outreach → Prospector) finds new companies and people to contact from an Ideal Customer Profile (ICP). It discovers candidate websites, scores how well each one fits your ICP, and saves the qualified ones as outreach accounts, contacts, and supporting signals.

Defining an ICP

An ICP is built from an outreach objective plus the targeting details you want to match on:

  • Outreach objective — Sales, Link building, Guest posting, Partnerships / affiliates, PR / press, or Other (with a free-text reason).
  • Your website — used as AI context so discovery understands what you actually offer.
  • Keywords, industries, company sizes, target roles, technologies, locations, and target domains.
  • Description — a sentence describing the ideal customer.

You can let ScaleBlogger generate the ICP from your website and then edit it. Saving stores one ICP per workspace + website + objective, so the same site can keep separate profiles for, say, link building and sales, and reload whichever one you need.

How discovery works

The Prospector pulls candidates from up to three sources: manual_domains (the target domains you listed), serp (search-engine results for ICP-derived queries), and web_search. By default it uses manual domains plus SERP.

Each candidate site is crawled, evaluated against the ICP, and only kept when it clears the minimum fit score. Out of the box a run keeps up to 20 accounts, mines up to 5 contacts per account, requires a fit score of at least 0.5, and considers 10 SERP results per query.

What a run produces

  • Accounts — one record per qualified company, deduplicated by domain.
  • Contacts — people found on the account's pages, then pushed through the enrichment waterfall.
  • Signals — the evidence behind each decision, such as ICP fit, content relevance, or job postings.

Results are saved to the website you have selected, so prospecting for a different site means switching websites first. There is no separate prospect list: discovered companies land in Outreach → Accounts (the old /outreach/prospects URL redirects there), where you can review them, add contacts, and enroll them into a sequence.

Objectives tie everything together

The same objective values are used by sequences and by the autopilot. Setting a sequence's objective to link_building, for example, lets ScaleBlogger reuse the matching saved ICP for that website and keep discovery, messaging, and reporting aligned.

Plan requirement
