Email Marketing Campaigns & Templates
Create, schedule, and send ScaleBlogger email campaigns with templates, subscriber lists, segments, mailbox rotation, and monthly send caps.
Email Marketing Campaigns & Templates
Audience: ScaleBlogger users who send newsletters and email blasts to their subscriber list.
Where to find it
Email Marketing lives under Marketing → Email Marketing in the dashboard and contains:
- Email Hub — overview of your email activity.
- Email Campaigns — create, schedule, and send blasts.
- Templates — reusable HTML layouts.
- Subscribers — your contact list.
- Segments — saved, rule-based audiences.
- Notifications — automated blog and digest emails.
- Capture Forms — on-site signup widgets.
- Analytics — open, click, and delivery reporting.
Plan availability
Email Marketing is a Business plan feature (also available through the email_marketing add-on entitlement). It is currently a limited-release module, so the Marketing area is only shown to accounts that have been given access.
Creating a campaign
Click New Campaign on the Email Campaigns page. The wizard has five steps:
- Setup — give the campaign an internal title, pick HTML or Plain Text, and optionally use AI Assist: describe the email you want and ScaleBlogger drafts a subject line and body for you.
- Content — write or edit the subject, preview text, and body. Merge tags let you personalise each send.
- Mailbox — choose which identity the campaign sends from (see below).
- Audience — choose a segment, optionally exclude a segment, send yourself a test email, and set the schedule.
- Review — confirm everything, then save as a draft, schedule it, or send it now.
Sending mailbox and rotation
On the Mailbox step ScaleBlogger lists the active, send-capable mailboxes for the selected website (Resend, SMTP, Gmail, and Outlook providers).
- Select a single mailbox to always send from that identity.
- Select two or more mailboxes to rotate across a pool.
- Select none and the campaign falls back to the website default active mailbox.
With more than one mailbox selected you also choose a rotation strategy: Round-robin cycles through the pool in order, and Least used favours the mailbox with the most remaining headroom. ScaleBlogger records which mailbox handled each individual send, so delivery reporting stays accurate. Mailboxes themselves are managed in Settings → Mailboxes.
Audience and scheduling
Built-in segments on the Audience step are All Users, Free Users Only, Paid Users Only, Active Last 30 Days, and Inactive 14+ Days. You can also pick an exclude segment to suppress a group from the send.
Schedule options are Send Now or Schedule for Later with a date and time. Turn on Recurring to repeat the campaign weekly, biweekly, or monthly — recurring campaigns are marked with a recurring badge in the campaign list.
Campaign statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| draft | Saved but not scheduled. Drafts are the only campaigns you can delete. |
| scheduled | Queued to send at the chosen time. |
| sending | Currently being delivered. |
| sent | Delivery finished. |
| failed | The send could not complete. |
| cancelled | Stopped before sending. |
The list shows recipients, sent, and failed counts per campaign, and every campaign can be duplicated into a new draft.
Templates
The Templates page holds system templates plus anything you save yourself, grouped into categories: Newsletter, Promotion, Welcome, Re-engagement, Product Update, Announcement, Transactional, and Minimal. The My Templates tab filters to templates you created.
For each template you can Preview it, Use in Campaign (which opens the wizard pre-filled), or Duplicate it. Templates marked System cannot be deleted; your own copies can.
Subscribers
The Subscribers page is your contact list, with totals for all, active, unsubscribed, and imported contacts.
- Statuses: active, unsubscribed, bounced, cleaned.
- Sources: App, Import, API, Manual, and Widget (contacts captured by an on-site form).
- CSV import: upload a file, map the email column and optionally a name column, preview the first rows, then import. The importer reports how many rows succeeded and how many errored.
- Bulk actions: select contacts to change status or delete them, and filter or search the list at any time.
Segments
Segments are saved rule sets you can reuse. Create one on Segments, give it a name and description, and add rules built from:
| Field | Operators |
|---|---|
| Status | equals, not equals (active, unsubscribed, bounced, cleaned) |
| Source | equals, not equals (app, import, manual, api, widget) |
| contains, equals | |
| Tags | contains |
| Subscribed Date | after, before |
Use Preview count before saving to see how many contacts currently match.
Monthly sending limits
Every account has a monthly send cap shown in the usage meter at the top of the Email Campaigns page:
| Entitlement | Included sends per month |
|---|---|
| Email marketing add-on | 25,000 |
| Business | 50,000 |
| Agency / Scale / Enterprise | 150,000 |
The meter warns you at 80% of the cap. Sends beyond the cap are billed as overage at 1 credit per 1,000 emails against your credit balance. Usage counts sent and pending recipients for the current calendar month and resets on the 1st of each month (UTC).
Best practices
- Always send a test email to yourself from the Audience step before scheduling.
- Start from a template so the layout renders consistently across clients.
- Use an exclude segment to avoid emailing recently-contacted or unsubscribed groups.
- Rotate across two or more mailboxes for large sends to spread volume.
- Watch the usage meter near month end so overage credits are not a surprise.
