Community Monitoring
Set up ScaleBlogger community monitors for Reddit, Quora, and custom sites, understand keyword caps and scan cadence, and track click and signup attribution.
Community Monitoring
Audience: ScaleBlogger users who want to find and join relevant conversations on Reddit, Quora, and other communities.
Overview
Community Monitoring scans public communities for posts that match your keywords, drafts a helpful reply for each opportunity, and tracks the clicks and signups that come back to your site. It lives under Marketing → Community, with the Community Hub for opportunities and Monitors for configuration.
Plan availability
Community Monitoring is a customer-facing paid feature that requires the Business plan or higher. Pro accounts can unlock it with the community monitoring add-on. Extra keyword capacity is sold in packs of 5 keywords.
Setting up a monitor
- Open Marketing → Community → Monitors and click New Monitor.
- Pick the platform: Reddit, Quora, Hacker News, Stack Exchange, Indie Hackers, Product Hunt, GitHub Discussions, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, or Custom site.
- Enter comma-separated keywords, or use the AI suggestion button to generate keywords (and subreddits for Reddit) from your website.
- For Reddit, optionally narrow the scan to specific subreddits. For Custom site, list the domains you want searched.
- Optionally turn on auto-draft and set a daily cap on how many AI replies may be drafted.
- Save. Monitors can be paused, resumed, or deleted at any time.
LinkedIn, X, and Facebook are discovery-only. ScaleBlogger finds the thread and drafts a reply, but you post it yourself — the product never auto-posts. YouTube monitoring stays dormant until a YouTube Data API key is configured server-side.
Keyword caps
| Plan | Included keywords |
|---|---|
| Pro (with the community monitoring add-on) | 3 |
| Business | 5 |
| Agency | 15 |
| Enterprise | 100 |
The cap counts enabled keywords across your active monitors — paused monitors and individually disabled keywords do not consume budget. If you go over the cap, the extra keywords are silently skipped at scan time; budget is consumed oldest monitor first, and the Monitors page flags which keywords will not be scanned. Extra keywords are sold in packs of 5 (5 USD per keyword on Business, 3 USD per keyword on Agency and Pro).
Scan cadence
The scanner runs every 2 hours and checks whether each monitor is due, based on a per-plan minimum interval:
- Enterprise — every 2 hours.
- Agency — every 6 hours.
- Business and Pro add-on — every 12 hours.
You can always trigger Scan Now on a single monitor or Scan All Now for every monitor. Each monitor shows when it was last scanned and a summary of the last scan.
Working opportunities
Discovered posts appear in the Community Hub with the matched keywords, platform, and score. Each opportunity moves through these statuses:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| new | Just discovered, no reply drafted yet. |
| draft_ready | An AI reply is waiting for review. |
| approved | You approved the reply for posting. |
| posted | The reply has been posted and is being tracked. |
| skipped | You decided not to engage. |
From the list you can Approve or Skip a ready draft, open the full opportunity to edit the reply, jump to the original thread, or delete the opportunity. The hub also shows Opportunities Found, Drafts Pending Review, Posts Made, and Clicks Tracked, and links out to community Reports and Alerts.
Attribution: clicks and signups
Links you share from an opportunity use a branded redirect (/api/community/r/<opportunity-id>). The redirect records a click and then forwards the visitor to your site with UTM parameters attached — utm_medium=community, utm_campaign=scaleblogger_community, and utm_content set to the opportunity id — so the traffic is attributable in your analytics. The redirect only forwards to your own website host, so it cannot be used as an open redirect.
Signups are attributed through a postback to /api/community/conversion, and both counters roll up into the engagement stats behind Clicks Tracked and the community reports. A separate tracker re-checks posted threads every 6 hours for new engagement.
Best practices
- Start with 3-5 tightly scoped keywords rather than broad terms; the cap is small and precision matters.
- Disable a keyword instead of deleting it when you want to free cap temporarily.
- Review AI drafts before posting — communities penalise generic promotional replies.
- Always share the tracked redirect link so clicks and signups are attributed.
- Pause monitors you are not actively working so their keywords do not consume budget.
